If you are thinking about using MO, I can say, that you may initially become frustrated, as it is not at all like NMM in how it works. Jet put up some explicit instructions on how to do so, if I can find that exact post, I'll link it here in a bit with an edit. Yes, you can migrate mods from NMM over to using MO, though I have never done this, since when I started using MO, I had to do a complete install from scratch, since I was recovering from a SSD failure.
